We're assembling our team of volunteers, and we NEED YOU! We offer so many wonderful programs and events at our school, and parent volunteers to make it happen! Volunteer opportunities are flexible, so please make time this year to support GWES in at least one (or more) of the following ways:

- Liaison between PTA and parent/school community.
- Coordinates events to keep parents engaged and build community.
- Recruits parent volunteers for EVENTS committee.

- Organizes/ executes various community building, staff appreciation, and other school events.
Site Improvements & Advocacy
- Coordinates with FUNDRAISING committee to raise funds and write grants to support site improvements.
- Coordinates with EVENTS community to organize site beautification events.
- General advocacy.
Fundraising
- Works with committee chairs to establish fundraising goals.
- Develops strategy to obtain corporate sponsors.
- Raises funds and finds fun fundraising ideas for the school.
- Supports treasurer and all other committees.

Do you have a skill you can share with the GWES community? Below are some areas we may be looking for assistance with, but if you have a skill not listed that you believe is helpful, let us know!
- Social Media (I can create posts and keep the community updated on a regular basis)
- Graphic Design (flyers, t-shirts, etc.)
- Website Design (help design and/or update a PTA website for a catch all place for info)
- Event planning and/or decor
- Gardening
- Construction, Crafting, Painting and/or Building and Interior Design
- Club supporter or sponsor (help a teacher who might be interested in starting a club)
- Grant Writing and Fundraising (formal grants for PTAs and contacting local businesses)
- Photography or Videography
- Translation services (written and/or at meetings)

Some volunteer opportunities require you to be a PGCPS-verified volunteer.
PGCPS’ Volunteer Program provides the opportunity for parents, businesses, and the community to enrich the education of students. Volunteers extend teachers' and staffs' professional skills and assist in the effort to meet the unique needs of each and every student. As a volunteer, you will join thousands of caring people from all walks of life who willingly share their time and talents in our schools in a variety of ways. Volunteers play an important role and are indeed making a difference for students. The complete application and approval process may take up to three weeks to complete.
There are three steps to becoming a PGCPS-verified volunteer:
