Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs an Entry Ticket?
  • Paid Ticket: Children ages 5 and up.
  • Free Entry: Parents/Guardians and Children 4 and under.

How much does the children's ticket cost and what does it include?
  • Pricing for tickets:
    • Early Bird (April 1 - April 7): $8 per ticket
    • General (April 8 - April 14): $10 per ticket
    • Last Call (April 15 - April 21) and at the door (April 22): $12 per ticket
  • The children's ticket includes entry to the event and credits for the snack table.
  • Purchase your ticket now!

Ticket Donations
Can't make the event or just want to lend a hand? Consider donating an entry ticket. 
What snacks will be available?
Possible snacks included:
  • Sweet: Fruit snacks, cookies, and chewy granola bars.
  • Savory: Pirate's Booty, Doritos, Cheetos, Lays, Popcorn
  • Drinks: Water, Low sugar juice boxes

Raffle Ticket Sales
Raffle tickets will also be available to purchase.

  •  Enter the drawing to win cool things including gift cards, a homeroom class party, or GWES school spirit gear!  

What activities will be there be for kids?
Activities that will be located in the gym include:
  • Dance Activities led by Indoor DJ
  • Face Painting
  • 360 Photo Booth
  • Recycled Crafts

What about for parents?
Parents, join us outside for music, food trucks, board games and socialization while your kids party in the gym.

What food truck will be at the event?
  • Flaming Cones (pizza and sno cones)
  •  Just Velvets (festive red velvet cupcakes)
  • Luv Plates (grilled and soul foods)

Shoe Recycling
​Have old shoes lying around? Bring them to the event!
  • Shoe recycling in partnerships with MOM's Organic Market (recycled through Planet Aid).
    • ​​Accepted items: Both new and worn-out/unwearable shoes including sneakers, sandals, and other footwear. 
    • Prepare shoes for recycling: Shoes MUST be rubber banned or tied together. If they are yucky, please place in a bag!
    • What happens to the waste: Shoes that can no longer be worn are reprocessed into pillow stuffing, carpet padding, wiping cloths, and other products.  Learn more about the recycling process.
  • Recycling drive will start on Tuesday, April 11. A collection bin will be placed in each HR classroom. 
  • The class that collects the most shoes will win an ICE CREAM SOCIAL!

Reminder:  PGCPS volunteer requirements DO NOT have to be completed in order to volunteer for this after-school, parent-supervised event!
